About me and how Little Shove came to be.

Lesley Magill, Little Shove

Hello there!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my site. If you like what you read, please let your friends and family know - word of mouth is the way I operate.

At 43, I decided to take a giant leap into the unknown and figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Terrifyingly and courageously, I walked away from 20+ years in the corporate world working in senior management roles for big brand companies across various industries. I gave my all in dream roles helping bring visions to life such as major events, world-class redevelopments, premium travel experiences and all sorts of projects.

Despite having some of the most incredible experiences of my life, it was time for change. Real change. I knew there was something else I needed to do that was aligned with who I really am and what I really want… I just had to figure out what.

After nine months of soul-searching and more ups, downs, and round ‘n rounds than I could ever have imagined, Little Shove was born. Looking back now, I realise I did it the hard way but it was the journey that brought me to this point. I wish I’d had Little Shove sessions to help me along the way.

I finally feel like I have landed; that I am where I am supposed to be, doing what I’m meant to be doing and in doing so am helping others.

I’m excited to watch Little Shove, and its clients, grow.

Why Little Shove?

I believe my purpose is to inspire and be inspired, to live my best life and in doing so help others live theirs. I want to prove to myself something that I have always believed in: if we live our lives in service to our purpose, we will be deeply fulfilled, love our work and live our best life.

The definition of mentoring is using your professional and personal life experience to help others; and that’s precisely what I want to do.

In my professional life, I learnt everything from the ground up in start-up roles in a range of industries yet I thrived and became a respected “veteran” in each role. Despite starting out with a Science Degree majoring in Biology, I never used it.

My path was interesting, varied and one that I couldn’t have scripted. Throughout the years, I enjoyed mentoring and training colleagues, public speaking, sharing my career journey through educational programs and helping workmates find the courage to make their own career changes. My favourite thing about all of my jobs was always the people, and forming genuine connections.

In my personal life, I’ve experienced some of the highest of highs and lowest of lows and have supported and encouraged friends through their best and worst moments too. I learn from experiencing, thinking, feeling and sharing and am committed to a lifetime of it.

I’m a nature lover, hiker and trail runner and I know how beneficial time spent moving in nature is for our minds, bodies and souls. Some of my best moments of inspiration, deep reflection and healing have happened when I’m out on the trails - my happy place. As a meditator, a wellness retreat and self-growth advocate I understand and practice the benefits of mindfulness.

I’m a reader, a writer, a listener, a story-teller, a deep-thinker, an intuitive gut-feeler, a mother, daughter, wife, sister, friend, neighbour…

It would be my honour to help you rediscover and value your true self, move positively through change in your life, reconnect with nature and movement, unlock your potential and move towards purpose, passion and fulfilment in your life.

I believe we often know deep-down what we need but sometimes it takes the right person at the right time to help us unlock those answers and set us on the right path… and sometimes we need a little shove.
